Me - "So what do you like to do when you have some free time?" Her - "I dunno.. I like to have fun" What I said, "Oh.. cool.. " What I thought, "WHAT?? What kind of answer is THAT? Who the fuck doesn't like to have fun?!?! What a worthless answer.. What, you mean you don't enjoy being bored off your ass? I love being bored and annoyed, which is obvious because I am talking to you.."
I excused myself as soon as I could. Thats why I don't go out when I am not in a social mood.. |

| | Nas - NY State of Mind | ] | Man, talk about a great time! My birthday this year was awesome! I did all the things I mentioned in the previous LJ post, plus some. After the club/lounge closed, we went to this after-hours party, and after that my roomate, a friend and I went to the beach and saw the sunrise. It was beautiful. We got back around 9am and I realized that I wanted to go to an indian festival and I needed to get in touch with a friend around 11am. If I went to sleep, I would have slept until late evening, so instead, I had 5-6 Guiness's and a Red Bull and took my merry ass to the festival.
The indian festival was really cool.. well, besides all the indians! I went with a friend and his girlfriend, and I have to say, it was alot of fun. Alot of indian culture thrown in my face for about 7 hours. I had no idea indian guys could dance so well. What happened to me?? I think Im going to blame it on hanging out with too many white people, and being in Ft. Worth/Lubbock for too long. Also, I forgot how good indian food can be! Also, I know it's for girls and all, but I like henna and would like to get henna on my hands..
After the indian festival another friend was having a "Soprano's Night" and it was so close to my friends house I had to check it out. I love it when people feed me pizza and wine, and she got me a cheesecake! It's excellent!!
I've learned that your birthday doesnt end until you go to sleep, and with that logic, my birthday was 40 hours long. I think I got the right mix of alcohol, chai, adrenaline and Red Bull and rode that mix all evening, and morning.. and afternoon, and night! :-) |

Aw Snap, it's Preetie Preet's birthday!!! Man, it's crazy, no doubt. I've been plotting and planning the vening, and I think it's going to be a great time.
First - Sushi with some close friends Then - Mango/Pomegranate martini's and other cocktails with more people, in a friends apartment 20 floors up Then - Going down to South Beach to this ulta cool lounge
And if there is anymore steam in me - there is an electronica music festival here, so I can see some awesome trance to end the evening/morning.
I'll let you know tomorrow what actually happens! To my Texas aces, you're with me in spirit.. I see you, thanks for holding me down! |

When I was in Lubbock, I had awesome birthday gatherings, and I got really spoiled. Last years birthday in Miami SUCKED ass, and I definitely do not want a repeat!
Off to make phone calls! Oh, and don't wish me a happy birthday today, on this LJ post, I'll be posting tomorrow, on my 47th birthday! :-) |

| | Eminem freestyles | ] | * Last night I had a lady I was trying to chat up that I met that night say to me, "It's lucky you're charming, because you're NOT good-looking." WHAT!?!?! She didnt laugh, and we weren't joking at the time. It was a small gathering, so all of a sudden all eyes were on us. Damn! I just stared at her, sipped my drink, chuckled, grinned, and told her, "You kill me, you know you LOVE me!! Now, go get me a drink!" and then I shoo'd her away. People said that was funny and that I played it cool, but truth is, man.. what do you say to that? It wasn't said in a fun, funny or flirty way at all! That really hit my ego pretty good; man, it kinda hurt.
* I had someone tell me that I need to stop being so self-depreciating and down on my self, and later that same day someone else tells me I'm too cocky. All this without any change in my behavior.
* Gin and DIET tonic.. not NEARLY the same.. no matter how many limes you use!
* About two months ago, I started a little "tradition" where I make a brunch for about 6-8 people every sunday. Nothing too fancy, some quiche, pastries and mimosas. Now, every week, we take turns on who makes brunch. It's really a pretty cool concept. This sunday it's on my roomate to make brunch. I have NO idea what he's doing for brunch, and I live with him, AND it's sunday morning. All I know, is that he said he didnt need help, and it's going to be more of lunch thing. I'm curious to see what he makes. If he needs culunary help, I got what it takes to make some mean crabcakes!
* I need to clean my room and do some laundry like nobody's business! Well, unless your business is a maid service I guess
* It was nice talking to a couple of my Texas aces yesterday. Im not a phone guy, but some people are so good on the phone that it makes up for my lack of phone skills. Well, unless I've been drinking, then I talk too much, and I'm too loud! Why is it that the drunker you get, the louder you get??? Im like that, and one of my old roomates was like that. It's kinda weird.
* Man, I fucking HATE Reggaeton music. If I hear that "Gasolina" song one more time...
* I could really use a cool, KTXT-type party with alot of fun people, and a few kegs of inexpensive beer. The parties I end up going to here are smaller parties with cocktails, little pretentious appetizers and I have to dress up. Don't get me wrong, it's nice, but I need a change of pace! |

Last night I made the best guacamole I’ve had in a long time. There’s nothing quite like fresh made guacamole and warm tortilla chips. All I needed was a margarita. Im really glad I found that sale on avocados. Four advocados for a dollar is a pretty good deal.
People seem to freak out when Im quiet. Im not sure why really, but I can tell it makes other people uncomfortable. I mean, sometimes I just don’t have anything to say.

| | Common - Still | ] | It’s been awhile since I had a chance to hop on LiveJournal, but now that I’m here, I don’t know what to say.
Two things I need to work on, being decisive and being consistent. When I have to make a decision, I’ll often read and research all the options, devise a decent plan of attack, but never act on my plan, thus I lose all the time and effort I used to research options and devise a plan, plus nothing gets done.
I’ve noticed that my roommate tends to talk to me more when I have my headphones on. My mom does the same thing, and I know they know I have my headphones on. What’s up with that?
My schedule for this semester really sucks. I don’t know if I should drop labor law and/or jurisprudence. Jurisprudence seems like an interesting class, but I dunno. I don’t think I am going to like how the professor of Labor Law s going to teach the course. Only problem is that there are not a lot of options open to me. I could take Family Law, which I might do, or I could try to get an override into intellectual property. One good thing about my schedule is that I don't have Friday classes. That means I have a 4 day weekend coming up :-)
Last night I learned that homemade chicken tikka made by a hot girl is only made sweeter by the taste of pomogranite martinis, good conversation, and Talib Kweli. |

+ having a girl say, "You look nice!" is one great, but having a girl say, "Hey Preet, you look extra handsome today!" Well, thats just on another level...
- finding out that the girl you've been diggin on is really attracted to one of your friends
+ actually going to the gym again
- I've been in this nasty habit of waking up, having a cup or two of coffee and some water, and not eating anything from 7am to 3-5pm, and then coming home and eating way too much, and getting lazy afterwards.
+ getting a letter from my apartment complex telling me and my roomate that we have a $10 credit on our account, and to pay $10 less on next months rent! :-)
+/- joining the asian bar association. It's good because they seem like cool people, and I need to network a little. Also, it's only $15 for a whole year! It's not so good because it takes some time to attend events.
+ having a great conversation with a friend about politics and music, having gin and tonics and chilling after a long day, and giving him my Mountain Goats CD
- having a professor be unclear on the reading assignment for the next class, and knowing you have to read for class because if you get called on and haven't read, you'll get thrown out of class.
- It being Tuesday night and just waiting for Friday
+ having both my fantasy football teams win this week! (Thanks Galloway for those 2 TD catches)
+ talking to my little brother, he's a badass..

It was hilarious; After studying a friend and I were having some drinks when I proclaimed that I was the illest indian on the planet. Just jokingly he googled "illest indian on the planet" and sure enough, this livejournal popped up #1. It was funny seeing him look through the information page and saying, "Wow, this guy is from texas, just like you!" and "Man, this guy sounds like you!" He finally realized it was me. It was really funny. He's the first, and only person from law school that knows I have an online journal. It's kinda strange, but Im not too worred about it. |

| | aggravated | ] | Yea, you called and apologized about Friday night, and I said everything is ok, but we both know that’s not true. I barely know you and you made me angrier than I've been in quite some time. You severely tested my patience and offended me on several levels, and you're lucky you're a female, a friend of a friend, and I’m a gentlemen. You must think I'm either simple-minded or slow. Whatever though, don't come up and talk to me, or about me.
On an unrelated note, I almost got into a fistfight in a bar last night.. jackass, you're not intimidating me with your lame threats, and you're not clever with your tired jokes, and if you start cracking jokes on me, don't get mad when I make you look stupid because I'm sharper than you, oh, and if you're going to push me, don't turn bitch when I push you back..
I'm worn out, physically, mentally and emotionally.. I'm tired..
I’m glad this weekend is over...
Tonight I'm having an evening by myself, with Comedy Central, a nice dinner, lots of water and green tea, and some Thievery Corp. |

Well, I have now offically been through the first hurricane of the season. Hurricane Katrina has come and past, and left a nice mess behind. Luckily my power didn't go out, but alot of my friends power was out, and 2 of my friends power is STILL out. One of my friends has been staying at my apartment until his power came on earlier today.
It was fun going into Eckards pharmacy hours before the hurricane, and while everyone was buying water and canned goods, my roomate bought candy, and I bought some ice cream. (coffee flavored)Also, if you're preparing for a hurricane, why would you buy gallons of milk? From what I've heard, milk doesnt keep well if it's not cold, and if your power goes out, yout fridge ain't gonna stay cold. (you could have an ice chest I guess, but I dunno, I didnt see anyone buy ice)
The good thing is that classes were cancelled on Thursday and Friday, so I get a 4 day weekend. Bad news is that I didnt do anything for the last 2 days. Well, I still have Sunday to make up for a weekend of unproductivity. |

| | silence .. | ] | I helped co-host the first event at my new apartment. My roommate and I had a BBQ this weekend. We bought some food and some alcohol, called up some people, and all went to the pool area where the BBQ grills were and had a good time. Later the party moved back to the apartment and more fun ensued!
We told people we may not have enough alcohol for everyone, so a lot of people brought beer. Someone asked for a mixed drink, and then everyone wanted mixed drink. Next thing I know, my full1.75 L bottle of Tanqueray is all gone. I think the people brought beer, but much rather preferred the mixed drinks. So, my big bottle of gin is gone, but I have about 40 beers in the fridge. A nice mix of Corona, Heineken and Tecate. Good thing I have a nice stash of limes.
I need to get some bedroom furniture, and a dining room table. Furniture seems a lot more expensive here than in Texas, but then again, what isn’t. I like the minimalist aspect of my room, but others would say sleeping on the floor on a sleeping bag is just in poor taste. All I know is that my back feels great!
I do need a desk though, I can’t get any work on the coffee table. It’s silliness!
It’s the second week of law school, and I am still not ready to be ready for studying. Another thing I’m not ready for is hurricane season. Tropical storm Katrina is supposedly going to turn into a hurricane and hit southeast Florida by Friday morning. Either way, it probably won’t be a huge one, and I don’t think I am going to evacuate, unless I really have to.
Well, enough procrastinating, back to Constitutional Law! |

| | Redman - The Saga Continues! | ] | I finished my final exam in appellate advocacy yesterday. A months' worth of research and writing that boiled down to a 15 minute oral argument in front of 2 judges, our professor and opposing council. It was rough, and I was crazy nervous, but I think it went pretty decent. The judges asked some tough questions about the case, but nothing I couldnt answer. I needed the slight ego boost I got from the judges positive comments. I am just glad that it's over! Now, just one more class to go!
I will say this though, I looked damn good in my dark charcoal gray suit and silk tie! :-)
After oral argument, all I could do was eat, veg out and go to bed early. I slept an average of 3 hours a night for the last several days, and I was too nervous to eat all of yesterday. When all that stress was off and I could relax, all I could think about was some nice roasted chicken and something potato-y in my life
Also, now that I have some free time, I have to take care of alot of errands, which I don't want to do. After I finish something big, I just want to relax, do nothing.. I think I will try to take care of all my errands today, study tomorrow and then do absolutely nothing all of friday! (except have a gin and tonic and watch Comedy Central)
On the way to school, I saw my car's twin. Same year, same color, same cheap hubcaps, the paint faded just as much as mine, only the other car had a little dent on the back side of the car. It's nice to know I dont have the worst looking Honda in America! |
